The artist
Manuel M. Cabrera
Born in Jerez de la Frontera and based in Madrid, Cabrera turned to painting full time in the early 2000s after a long career in interior architecture.
That training shows. His paintings are built like rooms: a structure of hand-drawn lines and geometric planes, then layer upon layer of diluted acrylic, sanding, glazes and controlled accidents. The surfaces are dense and tactile, and they reward close looking. Installed alone or in sequence, the works bring a calm, architectural presence to a collection.
“I work where order and chance meet. Geometry gives the painting its spine; the surface keeps it alive.”M. Cabrera

Manuel Cabrera brings balance to chaos… an atmosphere of slow, sensory movement.
He returns stronger than ever… with a wilder evolution.
Mi pintura es consecuencia de mi vida.

Relevant Art
Painting that matters, placed with care
Relevant Art is a Miami-based platform that brings established European and Latin American painters to collectors in the Americas.
We work with a small number of artists, and we work closely with each one. We handle import, documentation, installation and aftercare, so that acquiring a significant work from abroad is as simple as buying from a gallery down the street. Manuel M. Cabrera is the first artist we represent.
